Checking PPTX presentations before sharing

How to review slide text, themes, fonts and unsupported media when opening presentations in a browser.

Think in two layers: content and design

The slide titles, speaker notes and text boxes carry the substance of a deck. Themes, masters, animations and embedded media determine presentation behavior. A tool that can read and revise slide text may not reproduce the entire visual or interactive experience.

Review slide order and hierarchy

Start by confirming the number of slides, the title of each section and the position of the conclusion. Check for duplicate or missing slides. A text preview is useful for content review even when advanced slide design is unavailable.

Common causes of layout differences

Custom fonts may be substituted on another device. Charts, 3D objects, SmartArt, transitions and video links can depend on software or external files. When converting or exporting, inspect a copy in the software that will actually display the presentation.

A simple handoff checklist

Use legible titles, avoid excessive text, preserve the source PPTX, test embedded media, and provide a PDF backup when the event or recipient accepts one. Keep a separate copy before experimenting with browser-based edits.
